Parenting Coordination

What Is Parenting Coordination and Will I Need It?

Sometimes there are disputes and challenges after the parenting plan has been established.

A parenting coordinator may be needed in such instances. Parenting coordinators play a crucial role in helping families navigate high-conflict co-parenting situations. With a good parenting coordinator, most disputes are handled quickly and out of court saving time and money.

Typically appointed by the court or agreed upon by both parents, our primary responsibility as parenting coordinators is to assist co-parents in following the parenting plan, resolve disputes, and decision-making while fostering a cooperative parenting dynamic. We facilitate discussions, mediate disagreements, and make recommendations or decisions when parents cannot agree. Parenting coordinators also help enforce existing court orders as they relate to the parenting plan.

Our professional backgrounds in social work and mediation allow us to approach cases with emotional intelligence and a true understanding of family dynamics, ensuring that both the child's needs and parental concerns are properly addressed. Our formal training in communication, mediation, and child welfare makes us well-equipped to help families navigate the complexities of co-parenting, with the ultimate goal of creating a healthier environment and a more positive outcome for the child(ren).
